Bruce Gunn

BASSIST

From an early age, Bruce was drawn to music both as a listener and a musician. At the age of 10, in 1972, Bruce began listening to the “rock” records his father brought home from his radio station. The records were early albums by Deep Purple, Queen, Kansas, Yes, and Pink Floyd. Those records, and a best friend, inspired Bruce to play guitar and bass.

Bruce, and his best friend Dave, would put on the records and act like they were playing the songs on their older brothers’ cheap guitars. That evolved in actually learning to play those cheap guitars. Bruce first taught himself how to play bass, and later guitar, never having any lessons. Bruce played in cover bands through high school, college, and has continued over the years to the present day.

The music of Pink Floyd has always been present in Bruce’s life. Playing that music today in Quiet Desperation is a fulfillment of a goal and dream.
